Reconstructing attractors with higher order correlation

چکیده
| We propose a novel criterion of deciding time delays for reconstructing attractors from a single variable time series. Our criterion considers higher order correlation functions, and nds the convergence values of the extrema. In order to see how our method works well, we analyze two numerical examples by observing the shapes of reconstructed attractors and calculating phase space continuities. Our method can be a good criterion to set appropriate time delays on reconstructing attractors as a result.

Time series analysis on marine wind-wave characteristics using chaos theory
This paper discusses an attempt to identify the chaotic behavior of the dynamic system of wind-wave characteristics including significant wave height, wave period and wave direction in southern, central and northern regions of the Caspian Sea. Surrogate data method and spectral analysis are utilized to detect the nonlinearity and aperiodicity of the time series. The delay embedding theorem of r...
متن کاملPullback D-attractors for non-autonomous partly dissipative reaction-diffusion equations in unbounded domains
At present paper, we establish the existence of pullback $mathcal{D}$-attractor for the process associated with non-autonomous partly dissipative reaction-diffusion equation in $L^2(mathbb{R}^n)times L^2(mathbb{R}^n)$. In order to do this, by energy equation method we show that the process, which possesses a pullback $mathcal{D}$-absorbing set, is pullback $widehat{D}_0$-asymptotically compact.
متن کاملReconstructing chaotic dynamics through spike lters
We consider the problem of reconstructing chaotic attractors from spike trains produced by model neurons. We nd that the period/parameter plot, which displays the dependence of the oscillation frequency of the spiking model on the input level, is a useful device for determining the success of reconstruction. A new three-dimensional version of Fitzhugh-Nagumo spiking dynamics is investigated alo...
متن کاملPredicting the dimension of strange attractors
The correlation dimension was calculated for a collection of 6080 strange attractors obtained numerically from low-degree polynomial, low-dimensional maps and flows. It was found that the average correlation dimension scales approximately as the square root of the dimension of the system with a surprisingly small variation. This result provides an estimate of the number of dynamical variables r...
متن کاملMIMO Channel Reconstruction from Lower Dimensional Multiple Antenna Measurements
A method for reconstructing multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel correlation matrices from lower dimensional channel measurements is presented. Exploiting the symmetry of correlation matrix structure enables reproducing higher dimensional MIMO channel matrices from available lower order measurements. This leads to practically important applications allowing prediction of higher dimensi...
